When winter loses it's grip spring is so welcome. Springs first blossoms ... such a wonderful sight.
While walking through a favorite patch of woods, where many Trillium grow , I came across many patches of blooming Sessile Bellwort, sometimes called Wild Oats . These little flowers are among the first to announce spring's arrival in the Maine woods.

I especially love the Trillium... such a cheerful accent in a landscape which has not yet lost winter's grey, sprinkled across the pine-needled forest floor.
Known as: red trillium, wake-robin, or stinking benjamin ...
Close to home, bright blue crept up through the new grass
The air became heavy with crab apple blossom and lilac perfume
Time marches on... These blossoms have come and gone, others taking their place... Their sweet memory remains.
